Writing

Dr Suess used a lot of alliteration in his stories. We tried our hand at writing  sentences using alliteration. Some of us found finding words beginning with the first phoneme of our name tricky so sometimes we chose phonemes in the middle or end of the words to keep the sounds repeating.

Here are our sentences. Some of them are really funny!

What should the three little pigs build their house out of?
Well if you ask 1Echidnas and 1Bilibies you will find a variety of creative ideas such as:

  • Bullet-proof glass
  • Metal
  • Tyres
  • Bricks, stones and concrete
  • Cow dung
  • Balloons
  • and candy!!!!!

Which then led us to imagine what a house made out of lollies would be like. 1 Echidnas drew a picture and then wrote about their lolly house. It made everyone hungry for sugar!!

Here is one student’s creative idea.
