Book Week Character Parade

Week 5 Learning

In Science we did experiments to help us learn about air and gravity. We learnt that air pushes up while gravity pulls down. We discovered that a crumpled piece of paper will fall to the ground faster than a flat piece of paper because the crumpled paper had a smaller area for the air to push up.

In HIGE we worked in teams to label continents, oceans, the equator and the climate zones on a world map.

Water Play!

In Science we pushed different balls and bottles under the water. We learnt that water pushes up while gravity pulls down. It was a lot of fun and we got a little bit wet!!

Measuring Area

We learnt that area is the space inside a shape.
This is us measuring the area of the desk using different materials. We learnt that when we measure we need to make sure that we don't leave any gaps and we can't overlap.

We also learnt that you need to refer to the unit of measurement when you record the area.
